Blackwater River State Park

So this beautiful state park is only 32 miles from where we are "moochdocking" & super close to our RV mailing service.  We use "My RV" mail in Crestview and when we are in the vicinity, we often opt to pick up our mail directly and it gives us a good excuse to go to our favorite restaurant in Crestview which is Desi's. 😊 If you enjoy good southern cooking, that is the place to go but it's only open from 11:00 to 1:30pm Monday - Friday.

So anyhow, back to Blackwater River State Park. Lots of hiking trails, some of the sites are huge and all offer full hook ups and you are in close proximity to a gorgeous river. What more can you ask for? We had limited but decent Verizon service but our AT&T hotspot was virtually a no-go. I think the only negative about the Florida state parks is that you are not allowed to pick up any downed wood and Jim just loves having his campfires and takes pride in never having purchased firewood. I can understand the park service's philosophy since the wood decomposes and adds nutrients to the soil but we still miss having fires unless we can be scavengers and find some wood that other campers have left in their fire pits. 👍

We walked about four miles on the day that I shot this picture. It was gorgeous.

Our site (11) was HUGE!

I just had to post a Desi food picture.     Yummy
