Awesome Game Changer

Some folks would think having a second vehicle when you are a van dweller, is downright "dumb".  If we were moving every 2 to 3 days, I would totally agree but now that we are more stationary; it is an Awesome Game Changer.

I like what one of our friends called are "new to us" Honda Element: a mobile storage unit.  😊

We removed the two back seats which gave us a ton of storage space. These unique little cars have both a tailgate and a hatch door and clam shell doors on both sides. We now have more room for fishing stuff, tools and the best thing of all is that Jim's kayak rides nicely on the roof while my inflatable paddle board fits perfectly in the cargo space.

Do you see those logs that Jim is chopping up for firewood? He rode around the campground and found those and put them on our tailgate and brought them back to our site. Before, he would be limited to smaller sizes that he could carry or put in his bicycle basket.

Another wonderful feature about these Honda Elements is that most of the models have rubber/vinyl flooring instead of carpeting.  Our model, 2006 EX-P also has a moonroof and is AWD.  The only downside is that they are not great on gas because, as some folks explain, they look like a toaster going down the road so they are not very aerodynamic. We average about 24 miles per gallon which is fine by us because their versatility makes up for their lackluster mpg.  Plus, they are so much fun to drive 😊👍🚐.
