Brood X is Emerging
So if you are not an insect fan, you may want to skip this post. 😊 We hadn't planned this but we are thrilled to be able to witness the emerging of the Brood X Cicadas after being in the ground for 17 years!!!
The sound is like no other that we have ever heard before and most resembles an alien spaceship landing in a Sci-Fi movie. 😊
There are piles of discarded larvae cases all over the ground and we can see the adults buzzing around everywhere and one even landed on my leg.
There is a great BBC video that is short and explains all about these amazing creatures and just how special this event is that is occurring or will occur in about 15 states in the US.
Okay, time to get back outside and do some more cicada watching 😊👍🚐
