Winter Wonderland in Tennessee

So where do I begin?  We had a great summer and headed to Tennessee in the fall to visit our son who purchased vacant land in the Nashville area. We decided to spend the entire winter in the Mount Juliet Tennessee area so we could help our son clear and develop his 5 acres.

A big question was where do we stay? We can't stay in the van because we had to winterize it and we really couldn't stay with our son because he lives 70 miles south of the property that he purchased and he has limited space at his townhouse.  Our dilemma was resolved when we found a nearby home through the web site "Furnished Finders"  that we could rent at a reduced rate because we are also house/cat sitting. How awesome is that? We are so thankful.

We are presently dealing with some very cold temperatures and snow. We both really don't mind the weather especially since we have a warm beautiful home to live in when we need a break from the chilly outdoor temps.

On a sad note, our beloved Honda Element was totaled by the insurance company after we hit a deer back in November.  We did replace it with another vehicle but we truly miss that special car that was so versatile and met all of our needs.

Other than hitting the deer, it has been a wonderful stay here in Tennessee.  We spend several days a week at our son's property and we also are taking full advantage of the Silver Sneakers program which allows us to swim and work out at a local gym several days a week.

Oh, I almost forgot about the downright scary weather conditions back in December when tornadoes ripped through the area.  About 13 tornadoes touched down in the Middle Tennessee area and we were very thankful to be in a well-built brick house and took shelter in the crawl space. Our immediate area was spared although one did touch down just a few miles north of here.

Well that's all the news for now. Here is a picture of my new best buddy and I have just fallen in love with this super sweet kitty. 🥰
