Still Waiting...

Wow, I can't believe how much time has passed since I last updated our blog. 😲😲.  So, I've got lots to talk about since nearly 6 months have passed.

So, we've been in Florida moochdocking at the home of our son & his partner and their five "kittens". We had a wonderful visit and we were able to accomplish many things around their home including: building new shelving in their garage, pressure washing and staining their fence, installing a new subfloor in our sons RV, etc, etc.

Jim also spent many an hour working on our van and "she" got new shocks, new calipers, brake pads, a new master cylinder, etc etc.  She still drives like a dream 😊.  Jim was able to accomplish so much even though he had to take a brief respite due to having surgery on January 11th to remove a growth near his shoulder.  He was in the throes of restoring our "new" travel trailer when he had to take a break for about 2 weeks.  Yes, you heard me right; we bought a travel trailer!!!: a 2007 Komfort Trailblazer.  It had extensive water damage in the slide-out area plus some other issues so we took on quite a project.

So you must be wondering, why do van dwellers need a travel trailer? We were seriously considering selling our van and pulling a travel trailer which would give us more living space which would be nice especially since we have become more stationary. We almost sold our van 😲 but just couldn't do it. It's the ultimate traveling machine.

So fast forward to the present and we are still van dwellers, back in South Carolina & still waiting for our Ford hybrid Maverick to be built. Our travel trailer is still in Florida and may become our winter home??  Who knows?  We may decide to sell it after we live in it next winter or maybe not 😊.

So for now we are enjoying the many beautiful campgrounds in the South Carolina/Georgia area.

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot to mention that we do have another mode of transportation.  While we were in FL, we bought two bicycles from a couple on Facebook Marketplace and they threw in a hitch bike rack to sweeten the deal, and all for $90.

Having the bikes along is truly a game changer and gives us another way to exercise & explore the campgrounds while we wait for the Maverick. 😊👍🚐
